NYC Eats #2

HAPPY HOLIDAYS GUYS!!!

I hope every single one of you had a very merry Christmas/Hanukkah and holiday season! I wish for you all happiness, health and lots of love in this coming new year!!!

Since I finished school around the 20th of December, my boyfriend and I went on a little trip to NYC before the holidays and it was honestly amazing. Great food, great city and even better company <3 nbsp="" p="">

This trip was mostly to enjoy the city with my boyfriend so I did not take any OOTDs for ya'll, but, we did hit up some serious foodie spots that I want to share with you today for those who will be travelling to the Big Apple!

1. Chalait

As always, this little cafe has a special place in my heart, being one of the first cafes in the city I've ever been to. They have relocated to 2 locations in the Chelsea Market and in NoMad on Broadway. The food is excellent as per usual, and their matcha lattes... straight up perfection. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!

2. Citizen's of Chelsea

My boyfriend and I found this little (pretty big actually) gem in the heart of Chelsea while looking for a healthy, light brunch spot before wandering off in the streets of New York. I will definitely be coming back!! Try their beetroot hummus toast as well as their salmon avocado toast, you will not regret it!

3. Cha Cha Matcha

If you follow me on Instagram (@katiecung) you already know I love this place! Not only is it a celeb nest (you will find VS models grabbing a cup of matcha here on the daily!!!), it also has the cutest aesthetic! Their matcha ice cream is my personal favorite, so make sure to grab some if you can!

4. The Egg Shop

Ok, so. If you're a big fan of eggs-everything, like me, you will want to go to this spot ASAP. It's a charming little restaurant in Soho across from The Butcher's Daughter, that serves literally. Everything. With. Egg. Must try. I had their sandwiches (Hot Chix) while my boyfriend had their cruisers (El Camino).

5. Tacombi

If you're looking for an easy, foolproof lunch or dinner, you've got to hit up Tacombi. They've got multiple locations in the city and their restaurants are pretty big so you'll almost always find a table! Their tacos are amazing, but most importantly, their Corn Esquites is delishhhhh! It comes in a little paper cup with toasted corn, lime, chipotle mayo and cotija cheese. Corn heaven I tell you.

6. Misoya Ramen

Long story short, we were supposed to go to Ippudo Ramen but the wait was 2hrs+ for 2 people. Ridiculous. We decided to go to a ramen place I have been before in the East Village and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!! This is hands down the best ramen place in NYC that I've tried so far. Their Kome Miso Cha-Su ramen is THE BOMB!!! (Don't forget to make it extra spicy) The pork belly literally melts in your mouth, the miso broth is the perfect consistency and the portion is HUGE! Honestly, if you thought Montreal ramen was good... Just go to NYC. Please.

Please excuse the Snapchat photo, we got too excited and forgot to snap a real picture oops

7. Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong

This place. Where do I even start. My boyfriend and I tried this korean BBQ place in LA this summer and were so obsessed we went twice in the same week. So naturally, we had to try the one in NYC! The verdict: it's just as good, if not better than the one in LA! First off, the service is amazing: they cook the meat for you unlike here in Montreal! Secondly, if you order the combos (which I personally recommend), you get an unlimited amount of side dishes such as kimchi, corn and cheese, scrambled eggs, marinated tofu and more. Both combos, beef and pork, come with a stew. Get the kimchi stew!!! I wanna take it home it's so good.

Once again, we were too carried away and forgot to take decent pictures! This is not my photo.

You won't regret gaining 20lbs after all this yummy food trust me!

With love,
Katie xxx
