Instagram-worthy coffee shops in Montreal

Montreal is known for their strong coffee culture (probably influenced by the French) and I have to admit that I probably spend more time in coffee shops than in my own home! I go to different cafés every week and not only do I go to enjoy a good latte, I often go to take pictures. We all know the struggle of shooting content when it's -40 degrees outside so coffee shops are your best friend during the colder months.

I also wanted to share an app that I love with you, which is a Montreal coffee shop directory app. It's called the Th3rd Wave and was created by Tomas Chevez in 2016. I personally love to use it to find new coffee hotspots on their massive Montreal coffee map (which helps to find cafés according to the area you're in).

So here's a round-up of my recent favorite Instagram-worthy coffee shops in Montreal if you haven't been yet! They're perfect for picture taking or just to enjoy a good cup of Joe!

1. Restaurant Melisse

Melisse is my bestie Ana and I's go-to spot for coffee in Griffintown. It has the most beautiful decor (who doesn't love marble tables and fresh flowers?!) and it's also really spacious which is great for pictures. Bonus: they have an amazing brunch menu featuring a solid breakfast sandwich.

2. Gypsy bar + café

This new café came into town not too long ago and it's already one of my favorites. The OG Gypsy café is located in Bali and their Montreal location will make you feel like you just travelled to Bali thanks to their warm tropical vibes (hello rattan chairs and big plants!) I have yet to try the food there but everything looks super tasty!

3. Melk bar à café

Melk has been a loved coffee shop on Stanley by many corporate workers, random pedestrians and coffee crawlers. They recently opened a new location by the Montreal Palais des Congrès which is easily accessible by metro. I've posted a couple of pictures on my own Instagram featuring this new spot because it's just so aesthetically pleasing! The london fog is an absolute must if you go there (it tastes like the milk after eating froot loops!!!)

4. Pastel Rita

Not so new, but still very much loved by influencers all over the city. Its famous pink decor will make you swoon! The place has huge windows which make it easy to take pictures because lighting is key! It's also the perfect spot to work/study.

5. Restaurant Henri

Hidden in the gorgeous Birks Hotel, this little gem gives off major Parisian vibes. Filled with marble accents and rich turquoise velvet seats, this luxurious place is perfect for a coffee date and pictures. They also offer apéro so you'll definitely find me there sipping on a dirty martini.

6. Perles and Paddock

This place is the definition of #chasinglight. With it's ceiling windows and garage door-like front windows, this place lets in so much light! They have a real indoor planted tree that is totally IG-worthy in itself, not to mention the marble and maroon accents that are #goals. P.S. Their brunch is a must!

7. Le Victoria Café

Located all the way in Chateauguay, this place is not to be mistaken for some suburb less-than! This coffee shop is simply gorgeous. The black, white and brown interior reminds me a lot of Paris with its small tiles and terrasse-like chairs. Definitely worth a trip to the suburbs of Montreal!
